Scoring & Results Processing
The Measurement and Statistical Research Department of the TEPS Center is responsible for scoring and results processing of all tests that are developed by the center and administered by the TEPS Council. The TEPS Center helps test takers use test results in a timely manner by performing fast and accurate scoring through a standardized scoring system. We also adopted contemporary measurement theories such as Item Response Theory and Equating to produce fair scores so that test takers’ scores cannot be advantageous or disadvantageous due to differences in difficulty among various administrations. In case of constructed response items of i-TEPS and TEPS-Speaking & Writing, two or more trained raters are assigned to evaluate test takers’ performance. Raters receive continuous training in order to follow standardized scoring guidelines and perform scoring by accurately reflecting each item’s evaluation criteria.
